A top contender to succeed President Donald Trump is a Democratic strategist, a former campaign manager, a top adviser to a Democrat-aligned super PAC and a former adviser to the Clinton campaign, according to Politico.
The list of Democratic operatives who are reportedly on the short list of potential candidates includes former campaign strategist Josh Schwerin, former Clinton campaign manager Joel Benenson and longtime Clinton ally Stephanie Cutter, Politico reported.
They are among a number of former campaign staffers and strategists reportedly being considered for the role.
Politico reported on Wednesday that Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, was in consideration for the position.
Jared Kushner, President Donald J. Trump’s eldest son, is being considered as a potential White House chief of staff, Politico has reported.
The former White House counsel to President Barack Obama and deputy attorney general under former President Joe Biden are also being considered, Politico said.
Trump is reportedly being told about the potential candidates as well as the various political operatives he has hired for his White House, Politico added.
