What does it mean for Italy’s Serie A title defence?

By Alessandro D’AgostiniThere is much to admire in Antonio Conte’s first season at Chelsea.

His side have improved their title defence to the level of the reigning champions, with a record of only five points from five games.

They’ve beaten a team in fifth place on goals scored, conceding just six goals in that time.

Conte’s men also have won seven and drawn one of their opening six matches, but this has been a frustrating season for many.

Conway’s team were relegated from Serie A at the end of May, following a poor start to the campaign.

Since then, Chelsea have been beaten by Juventus, Lazio and Roma, and are now sitting in sixth position.

While they have the best record in Serie A (11-4-3), Conte will be hoping his side can turn the corner with the help of another victory against a Juventus side that have been so far unbeaten.

“I think we are better than last year,” Conte told the Corriere dello Sport.

“We played well against Juventus and were not disappointed.”

We played at the start of the season and we knew we were in the Champions League and it was important to play well.

“They’re in the competition, Conte said, but the league’s top four sides are the only teams who can make it to the quarter-finals.”

But we have to be aware of the Champions league.

We have to give everything we have and make the best of this opportunity.

“But the best thing is to be realistic.”
